The Free On-Site Measure-Up — What Actually Happens

Sourcing and Sustainability — FSC and PEFC

Does engineered hardwood scratch more easily than solid timber? Same wear-layer species means the same Janka hardness — the same day-to-day scratch resistance. Where engineered is more limited is deep-damage repair: solid timber can be sanded through a gouge; engineered has a wear-layer thickness limit that prevents this.
What warranty should I expect? Yida’s structural warranty on solid timber and engineered runs 25 years for residential use (covering manufacturing defects, not abuse damage). SPC carries 15–20 years depending on product tier. Installation workmanship is warranted separately.
